Dr. York is faculty at the Rady School of Management and lead instructor at the Institute for the Global Entrepreneur at Jacobs School of Engineering (UCSD). York has served as the Principal and CEO of Akita Biomedical, a restaurant proprietor, a partner in OREC, and chief commercial officer for MDEyeCare. He is also a life science industry veteran of thirty years, having worked at Allergan, Amgen, and Bristol-Myers Squibb. York received his doctor of pharmacy from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He has taught entrepreneurship and marketing at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and UCSD over the last four years. Presently, he is pursuing doctoral work at the Cranfield School of Management (United Kingdom) with collaborators from the Bettany Center for Entrepreneurship focusing on entrepreneurship and marketing.
